Hi all, I currently now have an accessible android phone that is called the LG G2. Its got a 5.2 inch screen, 13 mega pixal camra, 32 gigs of internal storage and no Micro SD card slot. Its processor is a 2.3 GB and runs buttery smooth with JB 4.2.2. It will get an update later on this year hopefully to 4.4. KitCat. One of the features I really like is the ability to turn off talkback via the soft home button. You tap 3 times and talkback turns off. The same goes for turning on talkback. This is not found an any other android phone unless a user uses a app called tasker. So far I how found this phone very userful, the ability to answer a call is really cool, you just pick it up and put it to your ear the phone answers. If you want to check this phone out just go to your near by carier and have talkback turned on so you can use this phone.
Sounds like a great phone! My first Android was an LG Ali, and I currently have on my desk a Lucid. Both were low-budget phones, but I'm glad they've come out with someting to please the high end as well.
It is, its my favorite phone as of to date.
I'm team iPhone, but am excited for the future of Android, and love that people like you are such advocates of the technology. I'm glad the iPhone isn't the only viable choice anymore, and that's coming from somebody who has married into the Apple infrastructure.
thank you Jesse I do have an iPhone and mac :), I am typing this via my mac. I like flexibility android gives me just that. Oh, I for got to add here this phone also plays very well with an app on the mac called android file transfer. Its the same app you would use for the nexus devices. Samsung has there on software called Kies.
Will it play M4A files? The Nexus seemed to be locked out of them.
I can go se, if it will play m4 files. If not I think Dead beat player can but again let me do research.
so, time for a podcast and announcement on the android front!!. KitCat, is! here!!!, OMG, its here and guess what? When I get my hands on it there will be a review via a podcast. Now back to the LG G2 podcast review: linkl: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10145896/LG%20G2%20review.mp3
I'm very interested in KitKat!
I am waiting on it, I hope it hits my nexis7 today or sometime this weekend.
Well its time, here is a inept review of the LG G2. I have had this beautiful phone for about 3 weeks. When you first pick up the phone you’ll notice that the buttons are all on the top back of the phone. So lets start from the top behind of the LG G2, you have a gorgeous 13 mp camra, moving down is volume up, power is next still going down on the back is volume down. So outside of the 3 physical buttons there is only four soft buttons at the bottom of the phone they are customizable. We will go over those buttons later in this review. So on the front side is a 5.2 inch touch screen and its very light to hold in the hand. This phone does not have a micro SD card but comes with 32 gigs of storage and the OS only takes up 2 gigs. There is not much blote wear unlike other manufactures who stuff there android phones full of crap. This phone has a 2.3 quad core processor and two gigs of memory, this thing can keep up with my netbook which is only one core lol. So lets go to the software and accessibility for us blind users. Tnis phone is skinned with LG skin but unlike HTC phones from the past, you are able to still use the phone out of the box. You have two assistants, google now and LG’s voice mate which is sorta like serie. Two answer a call all you do is pick up and phone and hold it to your ear. This is not a gimic, it does work very well and I love it. If you want to end a call just press the power button the call will end. This phone is slated to get 4.4 Kitcat but lets finish this review up.
I could focus on each setting but lets get to the accessibility of this phone, after all with out talkback its useless for us blind users. You have a settings called universal setting, it wil allow you to assign talkback to your home and you just triple tap to turn it off or on. This phone is running 4.2.2 but like I said its getting Kitcat, for love vision users it does have magnification built into the OS. So before I go, lets visit those soft buttons before I rap this up,. on other manufacture phones, these buttons can not be changed around but on the G2 from LG this is not the case at all. These buttons can be customized to your liking, I currently have my back on the right, home in the mittle and menu on the left. I stand corrected, there is 3 buttons not fourth. So, go, have a play with this phone and see if you will like it.
